Hi,
In the restoration process of my 2N, i removed the engine head, When the tractor was running it had black smoke from the exhaust,i thought a ring was broken, after removing the engine head, i found out that the 2 middle piston had a lot of carbon deposit as the 8 valves. The sleeves do not have any scratches at all.
If there is no scrathes on the sleeves,i asume the the rings are OK, what would be the cause of the smoking engine and the carbon deposit.
Is there a simple way to remove the carbon deposit on the piston ,and on the valves and there surronding.
Since i have removed the head do i need to resurface it or just put a new gasket.
Thank you very much.
