I had a front mount distributor and i just pull it out and do what i have to and put it back in........i just make sure that i dont move the thing in the back that fits into the slot..........there is a repair manual that you can get at tractor supply....i think its called ....FO-4 or something close to that and it will tell you hao to do all that stuff......it is about $21
