Hey Bob G,
Took some research (askin everybody I know) and came up with an answer. A standard 6 volt coil will produce between 17,000 and 22,000 volts depending on who you ask. The new oil filled coils will produce from 40,000 to 55,000 volts depending on what you are willing to pay. A 55,000 volt will cost about $55.00 It would be advisable NOT to put this new type coil on a distributer with standard points. These coils are designed for the eletronic ignitions ONLEY. I am not the expert here. I telling you what I have read and what I've been told. I will folllow up with more soon.
Regards,
RVW
