That doesn't sound to out of line, especially with the 10 perceent alochal dilution we have. Have to remember 60 years ago they were not concerned with fuel useage. Migfht look at exhaust pipe and see if it has been running rich. black sooty on the inside. might lean out mixture a tad. and see if it helps with out losing power.
