this makes it sound like you did the tuneup because it was running bad, and because you did not fix it with the tune up is why i suggested the timing chain idea. make sure you have a good flow of fuel from the tank to the carb. The 8n has three screens before the fuel gets into the carb. one in tank, one in sediment bowl and one in fitting going into the carb. Yours should be simialar I think.
