My '49 8N starter won't engage. The solenoid clicks, and after repeated attempts, the wires begin to overheat. I tried the old 'jump at the solenoid' but did not work. I then replaced the solenoid, but same result. Is the starter bad, or something simpler, like the ignition switch?
