It all depends on how much the journal is worn. on the back side of your old bearning it should say what size it is. may say standard or so much undersize. you could plaistigage the bearing you have and see what the clearance is or get a new bearing the same size and check it with plastigage. the running max according to book is 0.005" If you just put all back with the same bearing it will still be knocking. The very BEST thing would be to remove crankshaft and have the jounals regound and new bearning to fit.
