If you're still running points, you'll need to wire in an ignition resistor into the 'run' circuit-good news-they're cheap. Basically you'll have two ignitoin circuits from the switch:'Start' which goes directly to the coil with 12 volts, and'Run' which delivers currant thru the resister. 12 volt coils are actually designed to run at 6 volts continuously(?), and that's why the resistor in the run circuit.
