I read on one forum that GL-5 grade lubricants should not be used in Ford NAA or similar transmissions or differentials, because, (as I recall) they contain some additive which attacks bearings. I am not certain if that is true or why. Could it be some corrosive additive that degrades bronze bushings?
GL-5 is apparently meant for severe applications, and it may be totally unnecessary.

Anyone know the facts?
