My dad and I had the same problem with a 2N he recently bought. It had a weak intermittant spark. When trying to crank it we could not even get it to try to fire. (It had been sitting for a couple of years.) After replacing plugs, points, and condenser with no improvement, we replaced the coil and it fired right up! Your mileage may vary.
