Had about the same question as Shiver and looked at Smith's. Only wiring I could find was the original 6V. I am going to try to diagram the wiring on my 50 8N then a question. Start = Alternator to Ampmeter to Solenoid/Starter to = Then splits 1. Starter Switch/ends 2. Battery/ends 3. Ignition Switch, then to Resistor - Coil - Distributor.
Runs OK but Ampmeter nor new replacement will not register anything. Reversed wiring like someone recommended but still nothing. Is the wiring sequence correct? Thanks
