Herman, First, drain the gas tank. Disconnect the fuel lines from the bowl assembly. Remove the bolts on the front of the dashboard that hold the hood down. Then remove the bolts and nuts on the lower legs of the hood. Once it is ready lift straight up with the hood. You could remove a small amount of weight from the assembly by removing the grill but I leave mine on to hold the legs together better. It is heavy as well as cumbersome so is best to have someone help you do the lift.
