Cleaning the sediment bowl doesn't accomplish much if you don't clean or replace the three filters. There is a filter in the elbow connector between the fuel line and the carb, a screen on top of the sediment bowl and another one that sits on top of the shut off valve assembly and fits up inside the gas tank. If these filters are cleaned you should drain and remove your gas tank and take it to a radiator shop to be boiled and steam cleaned.
Also, make sure you are not opening the fuel valve more than one and a half to two turns at most. If you open it up all the way you are sucking gas from the bottom of the tank where all the dirt and rust settles.
