Man, don't ya just hate that kind of pressure from the bride? I wonder if they'd rather we spend $20k on a brand new tractor. But that certainly wouldn't be an investment.
Anyway..... Is it an immediate kill like a switch was thrown? If so, it's most likely an electric problem. Recheck your points gap, check your coil, jumper your ignition switch. All of these are potential causes of the symptoms you describe. Take a ten dollar igntion switch and a tune up kit with you. Might go ahead and switch out the coil and be done with it. A coil can get hot and the tar/oil inside melts and gets on things. When it cools off it allows you to restart, but typically a coil problem will require a half hour before a restart.
You say there's good fuel flow. Have you pulled the plug bolt on the 'bottom' of the carb? Did you get a strong, steady stream?
Last summer did you replace all three fuel filter screens? And, replacing dirty clogged screens doesn't do any good in the long run if you didn't also remove and flush out the gas tank which is probably full of dirt and rust fines. I had mine boiled out and steam cleaned at the radiator shop.
Good luck!
