Jim, When you fill the radiatorjust fill it to the top of the core. The low press of the radiator allows a lot of expansion of the water as it heats up. Any excess will overflow and make it look pretty bad. It may be that years of not flushing has allowed gunk to build up and give the oily sheen to the surface. If it is not much I would allow it but keep a close eye on it. I would make sure that the oil press gauge is working but remember, these tractors will run on very low oil press without any danger to them. A hot engine will usually drop oil press as it gets thinner so you want a good gauge for that. Hope this helps U out.
