This happened to mine, too. Check out a work order or something like that from Honda on the problem. Here is what I found: Honda pressed an aluminum gear on the crank that runs both the govenor and the oil pump. As the engine gets hot the gear slips and turns on the crank as there is no splines. The engine runs wild. It is not an easy fix. Mine has been running for years since I had it fixed. Had it been a Honda car they would have had a recall!
