Hello, I just found this forum and I am on the verge of buying a lawn tractor. I have my choice pretty narrowed down to a JD X300, and I am wondering about the merits of the mulching deck vs. the regular deck with a bagger.
I assume that the mulching deck works great, but what about in the Fall with all of the leaves. Will the mulching deck eat those up enough?
Can you convert a regular deck to a mulching deck with just some blades? I know that on my Honda walk behind mower, you need to block off the outlet to the bag, to mulch effectively.
I am just wondering that if I get the regular deck with a bagger, then I will always have that option of removing leaves or extra tall grass.
Thanks, Phil
