My 78 C121 will not start unless I run a jumper cable from the positive battery terminal to the starter motor terminal prior to turning the ignition key. Ignition switch and solenoid have been replaced with new parts but didn't help. Have tried grounding the engine to the negative battery terminal but didn't help. Have also tried running a wire from the "R" terminal on the ignition switch directly to the center (small) terminal on the new solenoid. This didn't help either. This problem started this summer after the tractor was returned following a complete rebuild of the Kohler. The engine was removed from the tractor by the mechanic to accomplish the rebuild.
