There are three wires involved with changing the points in the magneto. (1)comes from the coil. (1)comes from the condensor (1) one comes from an external grounding tab. Sould the one coming from the coil read to ground constantly.
The portion of the points hat moves, reads to ground all the time when all three of these wires are hooked to a common terminal with the moving portion of the points. Is that right? I thought that only the stationary part of the points should read to ground.
I have installed new points and condensor and the tractor will not hit a lick. I am certain that i have the timing correctly according to the "thompson/abc/magtiming" web site information.
Open for suggestions
Thanks
Mike
