Hi, I own 7 Allis Chalmers but no G models.
I don't know how the G was grounded, positive or negative.
If the positive terminal lead on the battery goes to the tractor chassis then the switch wire will go to the negative side of the coil. {Positive Ground}
If the negative lead on the battery goes to the tractor chassis then the switch wire will go to the positive side of the coil. {Negative Ground}
The engine will run even if the coil is hooked-up backwards but it will run better when it is hooked-up right.
