A week (week of July 16th) ago the tractor started missing real bad and it stalled out. I replaced the spark plugs and fuel filter. It start up great. Yesterday (July 28th), again, it started to miss (spurting)until it stalled out. I tried to start it up yesterday and it backfired. This morning I tried again and it just cranked and again it backfired that it splashes the oil from the reservior (air filter) that is next to the carburetor. I checked the points and they are ok. I also took off the carburetor and it was ok no lines plugged. I was able to cranked up by hand and it gave me the opportunit to check the wiring. It only has current to the number 2 plug. When I remove the spark plug wire, the engine stalls out. When I do the same to the other 3 plugs, there is no effect to the engine. I replaced the spark plug wires. But, I still get no current to the other plugs. Any suggestion as to what I should look for? San Antonio, Texas
If it's the distributor cap, condsenor or rotor, where do you suggest I could find it. It tried All States AG Parts but I don't think they have the correct part by looking at the website. Thanks.
