The serial number for an HD4 is stamped into the heavy steel plate below the grille in the front of the tractor. It should have an HD4 followed by the usually four digit serial number. These are rather hard to see if the tractor has been painted numerous times. You may need to sand or wire brush the horizontal area immediately below the perforated grill work on the front of the tractor.
