I have a 1610D which seemed quite similar to a John Deere 650 so I checked with the local Deere dealer regarding a ROPS for the 650. It turns out that Deere sells them for these older tractors, supposed at cost. It cost me about $400 from them. Of course then I found that not all of the bolts fit. The flange that goes on first fit fine, but some of the bolts coming in from the sides, which are very important for the strength of the arrangement, didn't. I got a local welder to make some adapters for another $150 and now have a ROPS that works. So....if you want a good starting point and don't think $400 too high go to a Deere dealer.
