Tractor forward and reverse was working fine and started to sporadically jerk in forward speeds. This happened a few times and then reverse stopped all together. When it stopped working there was some short term clanking noise that sounded like it was beneath the mechanical gear shifter. Since that time forward continues to work fine and when you shift to reverse it initially feels like it wants to move but it doesn't have enough energy to move it even on a flat surface.

I have read other related posts. The fluid level is fine. I have at least three challenges: 1) Does anyoe think the issue is a more simple valve/spring/hydraulic type problem or an in depth mechanical problem? I'm able to try simpler repairs but do not want to tackle a transmission repair. Ideas? 2) I have not been able to find a near by shop that works on these and they think it is a black market tractor. Is that true or is this a tractor made for the US market? 2)Are new OEM parts readily available for this model?

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated. I am located in the Warrenton Virginia area.
