Rear-mount tillers are so costly that you might hire out the work or rent one for a day. Typically, tilling is just an annual task at most.
Then all you'll need is a mower, and you could buy a new garden tractor with a rotary mower for a few thousand. A compact utility tractor will mow faster, take attachments, and look more impressive, but I'm not sure you need one.
If you feel you do, talk to some local dealers, come back with your experiences and questions, and we'll be glad to comment further.
