when turning the nut it will turn the shaft independent of the steering wheel if you hold the wheel. there is some friction though. the shaft will also turn the front wheels but I don't know if we went far enough to bottom it out. I did not want to put alot of strees on the steering components. there looks to be a cover with 4 bolts at the end of the shaft where it goes into the case. Is this were I acess the steering assembly. The tractor is a grey market 1979 and it only had 80hrs on it and i have less than 1500.00 in it so what eever repairs it will need I think i will come out a head. Can I get A manual for it and if so where. Also in case I didn't say it does have power steering in case that matters. Thanks for the help
