YM 1700 b Rear Axle removal

I was wondering if anyone know how to remove a rear axle on a YM 1700b right side. I have take the six nuts off the axle flange, the two nuts and two bolts off of the break housing. Neither break housing or axle will come off. Is there something else holding them from coming off? DO I need to take break housing off too remove the axle? It is a two piece set up (BREAK AND AXLE)unlike others I have seen.
