Yanmar wiring is so simple that all you need is a multimeter (or a voltmeter and a continuity tester). It's easily accessible (except behind the dash like the key switch).
All terminals gradually corrode, and tractor wiring is subject to heat and vibration that cracks the insuation. And the original-style voltage regulator tends to fail around the 25-year mark. But I'd start at the new battery.
