Pins do wear and/or break. Bring the old one to a good hardware store or repair shop, or a machine shop can make one for you. Or do a web search.
Or make your own by modifying a bolt. If you don't have a mini-lathe, hold the end with a small vice-grips and carefully grind the threads against a true grinding wheel until it fits perfectly (not resistance-tight, but the less the free-play the better). And a hole in the end for the cotter.
