I suspect you mean an overrunning coupler, also called an overrunning clutch. A slip clutch is a different item, which has an actual clutch/friction disc, often as part of a pto shaft.

Whether you need an OR coupler depends on how much you value your life, not the size material you're cutting. Same thing with a ROPS.
