Never seen an F-series but on others the hyd spin-on is bigger than the engine-oil one and on the opposite side. Not all yannies have one, but they all have an internal mesh filter.
It's true that the hydraulics tend to get ignored, but if there's the right amount and type of fluid and the FEL works OK, I'd look to the hitch system before the hydraulics.
