Yip, My 1700 knocks like crazy. Even after new rod bearings. That is just the way it is. It will run all day like that if you keep it cool. Hey side note..... Save yourself a lot of worry and buy the after market water pump kit. It will make you enjoy it a lot more. I wish I had put mine on about two years ago instead of two months ago.
