You're going to need parts support (if not advice too) from a Yanmar dealer, so I suggest you start by contacting some to order a Service Manual (not the Owners Manual).

If there is not one in English for the 2000, I'd get one for the closest export model. The cost will approach $100 but you get that back with the first hour of work you do yourself. Good luck.
