Problem started as a fuel gel prob. which I resolved with a new filter and degel in filter, bowl and balance of can into tank. Since then no start. Have checked lines at injection pump, ok as fuel comes out; lines going into injectors, ok for the same; made sure return lines were clear coming from each injector and into tank; changed oil, despite short hours on previous change. Cranks well and sounds good while it emits dark smoke out of exhaust. But, darn it, no start. No primer on 336D so all I can do is crank and hope. Have cranked up to 30 seconds until battery peters out and needs refreshing recharge. Am at wit's end. (I know short trip.)
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
