I am expecting a dirty filter but thought I'd ask about anything else before I drain everything. Can't imagine why the filter would clog because early last year I cleaned the filter and changed the trans oil. The filter wasn't dirty then after a few years.

Late last year I was very slowly backing down a very steep hill with the bushhog, I stopped, put the shuttle shift in forward, and nothing, no go, nada. I pulled it up with my other tractor and on the level everything was perfectly functional. A half mile later I was going forward up a steep hill, I stopped, and it repeated, no go again. Pulled it up again, went again for about 100 yards on the level, now it is 100% dead on the level, including the 3 pt. The engine runs fine, oil is/was full, there has never been any sort of strange sound, when it works it is 100% full strength... but now it will not shuttle forward or back in any manual gear, the 3 pt is down dead.

My understanding is the shuttle clutch and the 3 pt. work off 2 different pumps. Any other ideas other than the tran filter?
