For about a year now my Yanmar1500d's hydraulics have not worked properly. I have: Flushed, cleaned all the hoses, removed, cleaned and inspected the pump. Bought a new valve for the 3 point lift. Dissasembled the loader valves and cleaned them. Everything I can access I have cleaned and blew out with an air compressor.
When I turn the tractor on the loader will work for a few minutes then not respond. The back lift will rise then fall or not respond at all and there are no leaks.
I have bought the nearest thing for manuals on this tractor, I have two: One very rudimentary, with little information other than controls and the other designed for a professional mechanic which leaves out the most simplest stuff. Like which direction does the Hydraulic screen go. Why the heck does the screen have a spring in it. It can't compress because of the metal, perforated jacket around it?
Anyway, even though I discribed it in exact demensions to Hoye tractor parts, when I received the new screen it didn't fit (go all the way into the inset of the covers) so I ground down the side end edges slightly so that it would fit into the covers. The screen has one open end and the other is screened. Which way does this thing go in? Like a dummy I didn't think to make a note of the direction the old one went, at any rate, I have had it in both ways and it still does not work. I am now suspecting that the screen is the wrong one. My next step is to completely remove the screen, refill with fluid and test the hydraulics without the screen installed. If it works do I complain to Hoye tractor parts? The metal covering around the screen is perforated with small holes, does this restrict fluid flow on this model of tractor if its the wrong screen type? What the heck does the spring do inside the cylindrical screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Charles
