I don't know about the front end, but the sticking valve could be some "varnish" buildup on the valve's internal surfaces. In a past life in industry, we used to occasionally run a cleaner in the hydraulic system to dissolve it and clean out the system. I can't remember the name but I do remember that Mobil Oil carried the stuff we used. Dump in a bit, cycle the valve as best you can for a while, drain the system and see what happens. I know that it worked on a lot of our older servo valves and solenoids. Check with Mobil
