Mike, if you've had it from new and know that the hours are 530 (and not, say, 2530), then it's just broken in and worth trying to fix. Cracks aren't unusual, and I've heard that certain major commercial diesels are prone to spontaneous cracking, so there's a whole industry around fixes. I imagine that every crack is different, so you might want to research block-out methods, block-in-fixes by pros, and DIY methods. And perhaps take some photos and a plasticine mold of the crack to a diesel shop.
