I have a YM155 D To make sure my little tractor starts in up to -30 F I installed a block heater in the frost plug on the left side of the engine near the starter motor. I got one at my local auto parts sstore for a Japanese car, a Toyota I believe. I simply put it on a timer on at 0600 and off at 0800. Starts every time even without the thermo start , which is a bit of a bother. IF I expect really cold nights (and it does happen here in Northern Ontario) I clip on a battery charger hooked to the same timer. Two hours seems adequate.
