1. Absolutely, and a seat belt. Any brand that fits. If you'll ever be driving under low overhangs you can get a folddown.

2. There's a slight effect, but compared to tires, hoses are easy and cheap to replace. (Same goes for tarps compared to fixed shelters.) Speaking of tires, you'll want an air pig or battery-operated compressor.

3. Diesels need battery power to start but not to run, so use the factory aids to start in the cold (I think yours has decompress and thermostart), have cables to jump it from your truck, and replace the battery every 3-4 years.

Get a Service Manual (or if not avail in English, one for the closest model available). Everything you'll need to know is in there. Although a "grey," that's a nice and well-equipped tractor, well worth maintaining.
