I have come to own a YM2610D with a Koyker 155 FEL and KB75 backhoe (also came with a Dragon box blade attachment). I am a first-time tractor owner and have a remote section of land in NM to maintain (the tractor came with the land). The tractor has about 1300 hrs and everything seems to run great (I've put about 80 hrs on it). I need some advice from you experienced Yanmar owners and dealers.

1) I've got lots of roads, ruts and gullies to fix. I think I should put ROPS on this beast, you agree? If so, any specific make to consider or avoid?

2) This tractor lives outside. Lots of sun at 7000 ft but only 13 in. of rain/yr so rust is not an issue. Is UV light a concern for the hydraulic hoses or other exposed parts? I've gone through a couple of tarps already and was considering a permanent shade canopy or metal roof; any suggestions or is this even necessary?

3) Temperatures range from 100 in summer to below zero in winter. Any concerns here? The tractor gets use just about year-around but there is no electricity within 8 miles for a block heater. Do I need to limit use to above- freezing days? Will the battery survive?

I'd like to make this equipment (and me) last. Any more thoughts on safety, use, maintenance or storage? Thanks for your suggestions.
