Hi Al...well, are you able to see my red face from where you are? After I allowed it to cool down ( never enjoyed boiling water while loosening one under pressure :), removed the cap and couldn't feel anything with my finger although the overflow reservoir was 3/4 full and a good 'coolant color'. I added about 1 1/2 qts. in order to fill. I was 'fooled' by the overflow bottle and assumed some other problem. Anyhow, I don't like the way the cap 'looks'...the surface of the rubber seal at the end of the spring-loaded mechanism looks to have deteriorated somewhat and quite rough to the touch. Obviously, I'm going to replace the cap and see how things fall out. Thanks for your input regarding my impatient post.
