Wherever you consider buying, get references. Real references that you can contact. We gladly supply them, and any credible dealer should be able to. Make sure some are a year old or more...most peope are happy at first.
Ask to see a parts book. How can they get you parts without a parts book? We give all our customers a copy of the parts book for their model. If they give you a supposed model year or HP that is inconsistent with what you find searching the web, ask them to sign & date a statement that the information is accurate (lots of sellers claim much later model years than the tractor was actually made).
If the tractor has "0" hours or close to it and they claim that is because it was reconditioned, ask them if they think it's alright to roll an odometer back to 0 miles when a truck engine is rebuilt.
Find someone you can trust. Ultimately the tractor is only as good as the information and support (including parts) that you can get, and a good dealer will be able to take care of you now and down the road.
