Danny is right on the money with the PTO speeds, my 3000 is the same as your 2500 ( PTO setup ) and has the same speeds. Be carefull about closest JD parts. I have a YM 3000, also a JD 950, parked side by side. Some say that the YM 2500 = JD 850 and that the YM 3000 = JD 950. Not exactly true. Different engines, and some different parts. You have to be carefull with this one. My YM 3000 has a 3T84 engine, the 950 has a 3T90J engine. Many of the parts are the same, some are not. I suspect your 2500 will have the same issues with a 850. In maintaining both I've found parts for both at JD or Yanmar. Some parts seam hard to comeby at either parts stores. This does open up some options if you are carefull.
Chris
