Since you know which end of the wrench you bang the screws with, get an English-lang Service Manual (not the Owners Manual) for your model or an equivalent. The trouble-shooting guides are pretty good.

Diesels are much simpler and more reliable than gas engines, but they need fuel with no air in it, so that's the usual starting point. You don't need the TS (and rarely the decompression) in Florida.

If you bought it from a dealer, maybe they'll talk you through the diagnostic procedures.
