Joe, when I bought my 1810 it had a clutch problem, i.e, no clutch at all. I was advised to gently bump the tractor into a tree (if such is possible)and let the wheels spin a bit to see if that would break it loose. It didn't help. Found out that the plate was fine but the throw out bearing was rusted and ruined from sitting idle so long. Since I paid to have it replaced, I have been religious about using the little lever to hold it in the release position when I leave the tractor idle even overnight. Have had no further trouble in eight years.
