check under the radiator on the front axle where the steering shaft goes down through the steering tee the shaft may have the splines stripped off or the tee may have the splines stripped off or both also if is the earlier style with small splines there is a bolt that goes through the tee that tightens the two together. if the trouble is not there it is most likely the steering motor in the dash panel
