Thank you very much for the info. Being my first Oliver restoration, I was not sure what was going on.
Maybe you can help me with one other problem I have with the same tractor. When I went to change the oil in the engine, which by the way appears to run fine, there was no oil filter to change. The filter assembly was completely gone. I did not notice this when I purchased it. There is a plate covering the hole in the block. Who ever did it had sense enough to mill a slot in the back of the plate to connect the two oil holes which allowed the oil to circulate. Needless to say I need an oil filter assembly to make it right. I think 66, 77 & 88 models are the same? Do you know wher I could get one. Thanks again!
