I have a 1970 White 244LL loader with a 513 back hoe attached. It really is just a Oliver 550 tractor with two attachments that were installed at the factory since mine is all yellow. This machine has a four speed transmission with a forward reverse shuttle. The small needle bearing went out to the top front double gear that has 37 teeth on one end and 20 on the other end. Can someone who has a shop service manual or prior transmission repair experience please tell me how to remove that gear so I can replace the needle bearing. I thought I could remove it from the top and I removed the ring gear assembly hoping I could move the pinion shaft back to free the doubble gear and lift it out the top of the transmission but that didn't work. Something inside that double gear is holding it in place on that pinion shaft and won't let me slide the pinion shaft back to release the double gear. I was hoping I didn't have to split the machine (where the clutch meets the transmission) in two pieces since that is not so easy with the loader and back hoe installed on this machine. I already have two days in this project trying to replace that $7.00 bearing. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John
