I have a White 2-105 and am attempting to remove the 1000 rpm pto shaft to replace with a 540 rpm. However, after following the directions in the operator's manual, I can't get the 1000 to remove. The lock bolt has been removed and placed into the shift rail. The shaft cap bolts have been removed. It sounds as though the shaft comes against a stop when attempting the removeal.
Please advise what I should try next.
